WoW - Sabriel777 - 05-07-2009 Of all the MMOs I have played, the one that is most story driven and that maintains that aspect, is LOTRO. They did an excellent job of that, and the mix of gameplay with story. They also managed to fit your character in to the original cannonical story without ruining it, which is quite the feat given the IP they are working with. WoW - kateria - 05-07-2009 meh my free time in ddo came to an end . So I've bounced back over to Lotro . So far it's been a complete blast . had a 6 hour long jam session at a tavern in bree the other day was alota fun . heres a crappy video quality on youtube of one the songs my band played during the jam session . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD1RvK2ty_A I'm the human in the middle of the group playing the lute . it's an old NiN song " hurt" that's being played . anyways the music system for lotro still very innovative and alota fun . Plus it's got some pretty nice gameplay to it . unlike ddo , turbine took thier time and carefully handled the lotro title with delicate hands . with the new expansion mines a moria , it's really gotten fun . anyways Tor , meh dunno . It just looks like kotor but with ability to group with a couple other people online ..... not a real mmo but not a single player kinda something in the middle . Still , it's way too early to tell ! While I detested the "bag-pipey" droning, the song was easily recognizable, and the musician in me thinks that I might give this game another try - I think the last time was when it was still in beta. Yeah that was all with in game instruments. WoW - kateria - 05-07-2009 that was all with in game instruments . Using keys 1,2,3 ,4 etc then using same keys while holding down shift to differeniate between high notes an low notes . the games added several instruments since beta and cleaned up the music a bit since beta days . We went from a bit of jazz to some iron maiden to some folk music , through some hard rock and lite rock in the jam session . then we stopped after close to six hours when one the band members said , " ohh crap I gotta work in 2 hours ! ".... Anyways I'm on the Landroval server playing a LoreMaster . I'm told T'omo might be playing thier too but dunno . anyways peace out folks WoW - QuorTek - 05-07-2009 play eve guys... its great game.. at least in my eyes =) WoW - QuorTek - 05-07-2009 kateria Wrote:that was all with in game instruments . Btw I would not mind being a Musician in LOTR =) WoW - Meryl Haddox - 05-07-2009 I downloaded EVE again but didn't sub yet.... I think I'm going to delete that and resub in LOTRO... Cool that you play on Landroval Kateria, that is Syn and my server as well when we play. LOTRO is an awesome game, very well developed, and its only getting better with each successive book patch. I love the ingame music system lol. One of the best bands that used to play in Bree when we were playing was the Hobbiton Philharmonic. They rocked haha. Coolest idea in an MMO ever. Some people even hook up keyboards through USB and use those to play ingame. If we subscribe again sometime soon ,we'll have to look ya up Kateria. WoW - kateria - 05-08-2009 mainly I am running around on my Lore Master , Edlyne . been jamming with the lute an clairnet . been trying to find some higher level minstrils to mentor me to playing other instruments . but may just end up leveling up my own minstril instead . Just really love Lore Master . The games come along way since early beta . The Moria expansions really added some more depth and life to the game . An I would have to agree , each book update has been stellar so far . Eve I tried but it just isn't for me . Anyways keep the faith Sabers WoW - Meryl Haddox - 05-09-2009 I might be in LOTRO Sunday, dunno yet, I'll keep you updated on that WoW - Phylok - 05-14-2009 which server were you guys on in LOTRO? WoW - Meryl Haddox - 05-14-2009 Landrovl WoW - Phylok - 05-14-2009 Phy exists there as a hunter. WoW - Zombie - 05-16-2009 sigh...all this talk about SWG goin the way of the dodo. Well, I am on station pass atm so I downloaded EQ2 and MxO and currently downloading Vanguard. Im on Brandywine with LOTRO and I got into it for a few months but the grind slowed me down big time since theres a huge gap in the story with levels. Im a lvl 21 hunter with nothing to do until lvl 23. Im eagerly waiting for TOR. Despite what it appears to be, I think it will be something no one expected...especially from a SW MMO. Keep on truckin |
