The Scoundrel doesn't have time for politeness or a fair fight.
In addition to his trusty blaster the Scoundrel packs a stealth belt, a
scattergun and a med pack--everything he needs to get in, knock the
enemy for a loop and get out alive. Being invisible works best, but even
when Sith fly through the air waving Lightsabers all they get to do is look surprised as the Scoundrel's scattergun sends them back the way they came. The Scoundrel always shoots first.
That's the main description posted. Basically a bit of everything. Which is one of the specializations for the smuggler. So I assume it's all based on how many skill points or unlocks an individual has while playing the class. Which is why I suggested cooldowns, if they were to lock certain traits/skills because you had another then I doubt smuggler would go very far in the game.
Smuggler/scoundrel will be a pretty well-rounded class from what I have read/seen. Which will make it a worthy PvP class. But because of that, I imagine their dps, off heals, stealth won't be as great as one would imagine since they will have all of those abilities wrapped in one.
Of course, I could always be completely wrong.

I guess the smuggler can be the dedicated healer on the Republic side. The 'Sawbones' tree it is called. Sounds pretty cool to me since I've never played a medic before. I think I might go that route, but I'll have to see the skills first.

Sawbones also kinda makes me think of Combat Medic. Maybe stealth healing isn't quite what we think it is...? Or it may have a drawback of sorts...like, heals for X but reduces max health by Y for Z minutes. Either way, it's probably not the most difficult thing to balance. But yeah, EVERYONE and their mother will be this if they don't go gaga over the shiny stick wielders.

I don't think as many people will go Sawbones Scythe. I'm assuming everyone and their uncle will go Gunslinger. I want to play Sawbones since it will be the least played. That's why I'm not doing Jedi. Maybe the stealth tree will be the least used. Dunno. Going to have to pick one at some point. But I guess it doesn't matter. With only four classes being unique isn't really going to happen anyway. That said, I still think Smuggler will be the least chosen. All depends on the trooper's advanced classes I suppose.
Regardless, I'll be some kind of smuggler more than likely on the scoundrel side.

That's the funny thing about 'good ideas', Star.. Everyone has them =P "I'll be this because it'll be the least played".. Then, BOOM! Everyone is Sawbones because of that reason. =P

Yeah, Probably true Sonic. I just don't see myself as much of a gunslinger. If the weapons came in sets then maybe, but I would be far to particular and want matching guns. That would be a pain in the rear. Either way I'm going to find a cape to rock it Lando style. Oh yeah.
