Some of the GL people have there doubts in this game too and BC.... think it will just be another MMO, sorry for my down side look on it... but what else can the gaming market offer now a day?

I went with TG into WoW after SWG and stuck with them for many years. Was even a guild officer. We used to be the bane of the Horde on our server. I led many an Alterac Valley and Tarren Mill fights with em.. and our WSG team was outstanding. Used it to get Grand Marshal.
They got a bit lax later on as many core members slowly droped out of the game and then a lot of the more serious players (and I) left and joined with the guild TG was raiding end game content with. (Scions of Destiny). Was there until a few months ago when I finally quit the game. WoW Eredar server.
Long history with TG evre since SWG days. Good group.
Technically Im still in of TG.... heh
It would be better to form up people together instead of random factions/guilds, none offense meant.. but the people around are to scarce from each of the old groups, even SBR might only be able to contribute with a little handfull of people, just my 5 cent to the situation, people that know each other should play together instead of apart.
Ghost Legion has died for an instance pretty much... look at the site there at http://www.ghostlegion.net and most of the few people left are jerks or became jerks against Katana/Tra.

It's not just another MMO i'll tell you that much, in fact it's so much more, those GL people need to get their heads out of their asses.

I have my doubts over this game too. SWG was so bad it turned people away from star wars itself.
ONLY because bioware is involved am I even contemplating looking at the game... but I still have doubts. SWG burned a lot of us pretty bad.

Just don't buy it because it is starwars unless you want it as a collectors object.
I assume they will release a trial or something for free, try it out first at any cost and do not let the entire start the game thrill you when it is the end game that really is important.
In my opinion and MMO is an MMO.. not much diversity in this and that whenever it get to it.
as for previous comment that people should rather team up with the small fractions left of the old school and unite into one.. for just being realistic.

Looking closely the issue is not gameplay so much, but the difference between the single player and multiplayer experience.
From a historical perspective, I believe TOR is laying a very huge foundational stone here. They are making a game that is 8 games in one following each class, with no class missions that overlap, world missions, epic storyline, and complete voice over. But this my friends, is only the single player part of the game. Regardless of how they do it, I'm sure all of us (GL, SBR, et al)will want to play through it. I know I want to tell my kids I played this game I believe it will leave that kind of a landmark much the same as Final Fantasy did for RPGs.
As for the multiplayer experience - I believe that is the real issue for most of us - we don't know how all that's going down just yet. We all enjoyed NWN and then GuildWars, I can only hope that this will blow those out of the water which I'm sure they will. (If they throw in space to be sure!)
The bottom line is we will play it, but the question is: How long will it hold our attention?

Well said Hanak, and I agree... I expect most of us are looking forward to TOR on some level or another, and most of what has been said (really for and against the game) is really about the fact that we can't wait for it to come out (either to enjoy or to mock.)

granted the video was horrible looking and was still what I hope very alpha stage still .... I'm going to give it a go . I'll look into a collector's edition . I'm going JC , class wise . With luck cathar will be a playable race . As for servers , I'd rather not be on the same server that the vast majority of starsider people are on . Just too much baggage and bad memories I could do well to never having to deal with again . ( cue Nightsisters , an the RP senator from starsider an a few others that come to mind ... ) .

So make a toon on the starsider community server and another elsewhere, just because you have bad memories with certain individuals doesn't mean you need to avoid everyone on there that enjoyed your company
Oh btw Kat, I need you to readd me on your friendslist on the swtor forum when you get a moment, I resent you another request.
I also added Quor to the list as well, dispite our differences
