Tie Defender - Jayce - 08-21-2010 So, out of curiosity, was the Tie Defender part of the expanded universe, other than the video games? Lego recently came out with one, so I was wondering what the inspiration was. Since it brought back so many fond memories of playing Tie Fighter, and since I could pay for it with an hour and a half of overtime with my new job (...and she gets a 30% discount...), the wife let me get it! =D I'm happy. Now I need to talk her into letting me get a rebel fighter. Unfortunately they are more pricey, and the cheapest is a yellow Y-Wing (not my favorite...). Tie Defender - Meryl Haddox - 08-22-2010 It was briefly part of the EU yea. It's featured in the X-Wing books, notably Isard's Revenge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isard%27s_Revenge where parts of Rogue Squadron are trained, and fly, the Defender Tie Defender - Hanak - 08-22-2010 Stole my reply. I knew it was in the X-wing books but couldn't remember which one. I never ever bothered making them in Rebellion. Tie Defender - LSF Shadow - 09-04-2010 Tie Defenders also made the Vong War, as well as the obvious Video Games. I believe Defenders also got a mini toy put out back in the mid to late 90s as part of the MicroMachine line I think. One which goes for lots of $$$ on the Ebay market last time I checked. The Tie-D was always my fave version of the Tie Fighter to play with in Tie Fighter, but I believe in the SW universe the T-D was limited in production like the Darktroopers. Tie Defender - Meryl Haddox - 09-05-2010 Yea, the T-D cost like 300,000 credits a piece where as a standard TIE only cost like 5,000, if that. And yea, one of my favorites as well, it really was/is the definition of a space superiority fighter |
