I can get 10% off this but I don't really know if it's a good deal might ask some people that are wiser than myself

Surround sound headphones are pretty much a gimmick. And unless you are a huge audiophile you won't be able to hear a difference in sound quality compared to a much cheaper set.

I see what you mean and I completely agree but really what your paying for is the design and whelp I love art so it would be great to have them

Not completely false on the surround sound part, I have a Razer Barracuda and love it. If you are big on FPS games, you can hear footsteps, gun fire, or whatever all around you and can pinpoint those with a good gaming headset vs. left or right.

I had a $20 headset that worked just as well though, but the mic didn't work, and I wanted a little better quality. That's the only reason I dished out the money for a Razer. I would suggest staying in the $20-$60 range, unless you have the money for it. Audio on music, movies, and games other than FPS doesn't really make a huge difference.

And even with FPS, I wouldn't even recommend dishing out that much money unless you play competitively and are serious about a certain game.

I doubt you are paying much for the quality of the headset as much as you are paying out for the silly design.

I

That's good to know. Perhaps I'll look at getting one (the cheaper variety that is) if the surround sound is actually decent. I had always heard it was rather gimmicky before, but that was from someone who plays mostly mmos and not FPS.

Good head phones really do make for the best surround sound experience. Room dynamics are removed from the equation so reflected sound doesn't confused the direction of the sound nor turning of the head screw up direction in near field speakers.
