For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - Quinlin - 03-06-2007 Quote:Originally posted by QuorTek VG is run by SOE right? Give it time Q, SOE kills everything it touches For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - Meryl Haddox - 03-06-2007 He brings up a good point For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - QuorTek - 03-07-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Quinlin VG is Sigil, soe only runs the serverside to my knowledge For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - Dervish - 03-07-2007 Quote:Originally posted by QuorTek SOE is still touching VG though, so IMO, Quinlin's statement still stands For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - NightFire - 03-07-2007 While I don't see SOE screwing VG up, its pretty stupid to post about the death of SWG on THESE forums =p For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - Cillian Harth - 03-07-2007 Quote:Originally posted by Quinlin Quin I want a siggy like yours  For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - Starfire - 03-07-2007 SWG isn't going anywhere for at least another year and a half. They said they wanted five years and I am completely sure they will do it. At least they are finally starting to add things instead of remove them. On the subject of Vanguard. I only play it due to the fact that it is a part of the Station Access Pass. I still play the Matrix and SWG so Vanguard is essentially free. If I were paying for it I would not be playing it. I'm not entirely sure what the appeal is for everyone concerning that game. Sure there are a lot of missions, but it's the same crap every other MMO has put out there. "Go fetch this, go kill that" etc, etc, etc. If I'm going to do that and pay for it, I'd rather it be a universe I care about with a space component. (It doesn't help that everyone in the wing is a thousand levels higher than me. I'm playing alone, and it feels like a single player game. If I want that I can just play Oblivion. It's the same thing anyway.) Back on subject. I like the new content in SWG, I just hope we can train our old mounts again. For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - Meparch - 03-08-2007 As a SP game oblivion is much better than any mmo out there. Vanguard is simply the newest and latest game out there. It doesn't seem much different to me than EQ2 which didn't seem that much different than SWG-CU. Nothing less than a roll back is going to make SWG a good game again. That will not happen and even if it did, I already done everything in that game before. Even adding in more of the same isn't going to make a difference. I am sure vanguard's lifespan won't be anything near what SWG had for me. It is a good hold over until the next SW MMO, if that is even worth playing. For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - QuorTek - 03-08-2007 compared to SWG then VG got content and alot of it.. it seems like a neverending journey. Content in SWG all the time has been done in a couple of weeks game time.. new content in SWG is combat upgrades and addons.. and what addons? kashyyyk was sorta good and likewise mustafar had some gripe.. but with the lack of overall content it was eaten up to easy if you look at it that is. Only stuff I have left in SWG is space.. space is untouched and awesome stuff.. good pvp scene and skill full as well.. if you put alot of work into it you will get alot of credit out of it if you even can find out in how to use your ship optimal. What funny is, is that vanguard runs better on my system to... unlike SWG, sure it is fine with all the new professions upgrades, but it simply does not do it for one who has done everything in the game as it is now.. yay I got all my ways of doing combat up to date!!!! now go use it.. but on what to do? it is all about a grind.. hey yay it is cool grinding a rank noot... you just need to kill a gazillion imps to reach general in which is not an archievement if not doing it in the pvp society to me. So sorry for saying all this.. but I think I had it with SWG... when there is so much else to do.. got my ships and that is all I want there.. anything else just sucks balls :/ It is great to have roughly 15billion credits in the game spread over characters.. and maintaince.. but nothing I can use it on.. I refuse giving any of them away either because credits is meant to be earnt not given. For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - QuorTek - 03-08-2007 ring me up when swg is not beta anymore because I have done all the beta quests, archievements and more. For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - Mario Genao11 - 03-09-2007 If you guys like MMO's then wait til Lord of the Rings MMo comes out it has the WHOLE thing and the races that wil have alot of content For those who haven't seen whats going on with chapter 6 - Sabriel777 - 03-09-2007 I'm beta testing LOTR, its a good game, well thought out but over all lacks depth for me. Only 4 races, although you can play Monsters in the Ettenmoors, for Monster playervsplayer. The classes are limited, only 6 of them. Loremaster, Minstrel, Captain, Champion, Guardian, and Burgler. No real caster classes, in order to keep with Canon. Crafting system is kinda fun, only game i've played that has a farming profession which was quite cool. The instanced dungeons are well done too for the most part, the Retaking Weathertop was hella cool. Old Forest was far too small for my liking, and over all the world feels quite small, although its seamless other than dungeons and instanced quests. One thing have done quite well is the working in of your character to the over arching story line. The graphics too are quite pretty although Bree lags like an SOB. However that was on my old system, i've not tried it on my new system. Over all it's a good game, but I can't see it holding my attention for too long, as it's a bit easy, and lacks depth like housing and player cities. Definitely give it a try if your interested though, it's what DDO should have been like, and I can see that they really pulled funding from DDO to switch focus to LOTR. |
