Well I may not be the smartest fish in the barrel, but I think I can figure out a video game story fairly well. Video games just aren't that deep, especially the prototypical bad ass soldier special unit with a distrubed past, old friend/brother/father turn bad guy seeking world domination and hot chick you the viewer want to do but the soldier just shrugs her off, because he is such a bad ass her charms just aren't powerful enough to affect him. Though I see they through a twist into the mix making him turn old, because old=weak, vulnerable and dying, and doing dangerous things while weak, vulnerable and dying makes it even more heroic, hence he is even a greater badass than before even though he is old and pathetic. In the end he'll be fine since they'll want to milk the cow some more with MSG5 and the chick still won't have her solid snake (yeah, there is only one way to take that) because he is just that kind of guy. Or hell, they are up to 4 so she's probably gotten the snake by now so she is prefect to be kidnapped/killed(only if she has a sister/best friend that looks just like her, a twin is best, to take over her spot).
Yeah, I think I covered everything without reading a review or playing a single game. Though I did see Zero Puncuation's take,

Playing the first 3 would make the game a bit better though even though I already know what happen without ever noticing the series existance until the 4th game showed up in my bluray player box. Don't get me wrong. I may no longer be in the demographic but I do still have a penis and love this kind of overly predictable regurgitation of the standard sterotypic crap.
