Don't tell me that you are going to use it... seriously it goes against all logical physics regarding light.... yes I know it is a game and fantasy... but it is nothing alike what you see in the movies.

Made a post against it here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthrea...ost2342095

You should buckle up then and not support it, with all my respect then I say it should simply not be an option.

Yeah, it is silly, but so is shotting lightning out of your hand using the "force". After that realism takes a back seat in some other galaxy.

I collect all rare lightsaber colors, I don't support it but i'll collect it anyways

Wouldn't Black Lightsabers be more just lightsabers that emit light in a frequency outside the normal human spectral vision? I.E. Infrared and Ultraviolet? While it would be truly black, anything with normal HUMAN vision would be process it as a light black/very deep red/purple color. Of course Ibelieve that several Star Wars species can see in those frequency, so some cool visual effects should be warrented for said races.

That would be invincible lightsabers... remember light is wavelenghts, you have to turn off the wavelenght to be able to create black and thus be having a lightsaber that is not working.

I believe (it has been a while since my last physics class) that a bright enough source of non-visible light would distort your vision creating the sensation of seeing black, without it actually being black. Basically, it would be causing you to not be able to see visible light through it, the it wouldn't appear invisible, but as black (your eyes lacking the senses to translate them into anything it can understand.)

You can make gravity fields that are strong enough to pull in all wavelenghts which would create a black hole... has to be an insane grav field though and making one on earth would most likely pull earth into it as well and it would end on the other side.

You can make magnetic fields which is the same as grav fields that would be able to bend the light so the beams go around a corner too.

Again, it isn't actually black, its an effect of neurophysiology that makes it seem black.

It would be black if outside light were absorbed or white if it were reflexed. Invisable is only possible of potons were able to pass through whatever containment field the lightsaber used to hold in potons, ie not happening. It's a good point though.

My guess is potons hitting a lightsaber are not absorbed as the lightsaber emitts light. Rather they would be reflected back out possibly at a different wavelength or refracted around the saber. It may produce an effect similar to the wormholes seen in even.

well technically you cannot see the light in the wormholes as the other side might be lightyears away... as for the light to travel the distance would or could take several 1000 years to reach its destination... or that the route has some slight turns through it so teh light would bounce into the walls in a figure of speech.
