What SWTOR is to a MMO

Hopefully this will answer some questions for all of you, as seen here

It should not be a kotor clone... would be a horrible thing for an MMO... open areas would be nice as well..

It should be the ancient times though and the color spectrum should be within what we already know of.

They say they are going to beat the hell out of any MMO out there with something from each... so I wonder if they would implent space, it would not seem like starwars without space.

Yeah, it has to have space. Im guessing an expansion type thing like last time.

I think it would be better to do it right for launch rather than a silly expansion, it would attract more people.

maybe that's why they are extending SWTOR for a whole other year Tongue

I think they did another year of development because the game they have right now sucks.

didn't you see the swtor update on friday where it showed the republic bombardment the empire base on Balmorra, i'm sure that has something to do with space, it would be a nice thing to have where guilds can team up in warships and do that.

Sorry but I don't share your enthusiasmn, call me old fashioned or whatever, but I would like to actually see what they have to offer instead of these few cheesy bits, takes alot to impress me actually.... could care less about if we got 50 planets or just 3... if there is plenty to area to cover that makes the game interesting, and stuff to do in those areas as well.

Semi active watching the SWTOR boards but they got a long way to go about stuff as it is.

Bioware somewhat listens... but they also got EA and LA to worry about and even there final say has somethign to do with them two other companies as well.

Also I don't want to see cinematics in the game shown as that is how it is, often them cinematics are much more interesting looking at than the actual game as well... my suggestion is to watch the game from high up above before saying anything, as for my current self... I got nothing much to say untill they reveal actually facts about the game.

Marketing hype. If you haven't learned to identify stuff as such... well.....

I'm seeing alot a talk by bioware . However bioware hasn't shown much of the core meat an potatoes . It's all fluff an puff powder girlie stuff . that's lame , cartoonish like wow . An just doesn't look any better then swg . It looks convuoluted an chaotic .

I'm with Quor in bioware needs to show me the money . were getting the backfield shot from nose bleeds at a stadium shot ... Money shot please ....

an like mep , ya I agree what tor has now is shit I wouldn't feed to a pixelated dog .

They haven't shown hardly anything. How can it suck if you don't even know? I mean I'm more pessimistic than nearly anyone here, but I think it looks fun. I think you guys are just worried about the end game. Am I right? I'm sure Bioware has that figured. You can't make an MMO and not have something to do once the main quests are done.

I for one am looking forward to it. Here's hoping they use that extra year and make space playable.

I expect getting a free month to try out the game, maybe two months.. would like the game box to be free with no charge since they are going to earn on us with subscriptions.

Maybe a bit of a pessimist here, but been through alot of garbage even from respected companies here and there and bioware is no exception even though they got a nice selection of games out there as it is.. so it is better not to expect anything good untill it is actually shown.. keeps me happy in some sort of way.

At this point I doubt very much any game is ever going to meet your expectations Quortek. I am sorry to break it to ya, but these games are made to make money, bottom line. And while I am sure SW:TOR is going to be a good game, it will likely be missing much of what you want from it.. especially at launch. No MMO launches with all promised features anymore. It just doens't happen when you have investors yelling at you to make profit asap. Im sure much of it will come in via patches and expansions, but really you have to be willing to give the game a shot past the first couple months to see that.

Or do what I do a lot, which is beta the game, then watch it over the first few months after release. Sub after all the worst bugs and issues have been squashed. But I digress, the main point being that given the MMO market today, you need to lower your expectations a bit Tongue

You know and I know that there never would made a perfect game, but it would be nice to have some insight in the game we are going to play rather than some cheesy adverts... I know some parts of every game really bores me and others does not.. some I like and some I do not like.. my MMO history count many games as it is now... and well if it goes by some good things that I had in previous games... it is not like my critirieas are THAT insane.. I just expect to be entertained alot with an interesting game.

It is easy for me to get negative, I guess I can be somewhat impatiant when speaking for myself but it certainly would be nice if they would like to tell us a little but more about what is going on, not asking them to show off the story or the voice dialogs but just the game as it is as a game, especially what there is to do after all the story line fuss would be nice to know about, I guess that make me somewhat concerned about the game as well as it might seem like I am showing my boot up peoples asses it is not my intent to do it other than in the Bioware devs asses as it is.
