That would be kick-ass if they brought people like them in as creative consultants (though I have to admit I don't care for Traviss's work as much; I'd prefer Aaron Alliston), but I was assuming they'd be working with some Hollywood script-writing types. Getting some info on who's involved in working on the script and what they've done in the past would be nice...

There is a difference between novel writers and script writers. They have story treatments from Lucas himself but they will hire one of their own script writers. They will shoot for ordinary and safe, much like most of the scripts coming from marvel. That does mean we probably won't get much cheese like Lucas through there won't be any great experimentation or new ideas either. We may all hate jar jar, but at least Lucas had the guts to experiment and put it out there for the world to see, even if the experiment was a failure. He had an earlier experiment, no one thought would work, that turned out to be a huge success.

Their general politics about violence and the likes and general entertainment ideas has gone downhill since they hit the ultra safe society thing where kids have to e over protected from everything.

Going to give the new movies a -10 untill I am convinced otherwise, mostly due to it would be disney doing it.

They even took out some of the old movies for the disney yearly special... because it had violence in the cartoons lol

Yeah, one common complaint about Star Wars is that since the prequels or even since RotJ, Lucas was marketing too much to kids. I figure Disney will do this more so.

Also, notice how Disney puts so much of their older material in the "Disney Vault". Is that the fate of the Original Trilogy? How about the old games like X-Wing, etc?

How much more aggressively will Disney be protecting copy-write than Lucasfilm? I'm wondering what Disney will do to fan sites, fan-made works of art and media, etc.

They are creatures with close ties to nature, and a great affinity in their own way, for the Force." Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi, on Wookiees. (Star Wars: A New Hope Audio Drama)

This has always been one of things that Lucas has done right since it began. He left the Star Wars franchise an open forum for it's fan to explore with fan made material. Disney is very much on the other side of this extreme, you post anything with a disney character you better have lawyers on stand by. That would be my biggest worry I think at this time.....
We have no choice, Admiral Ghent! Our cruisers can't repel firepower of that magnitude!

As far as older games going into the "vault" goes...LucasArts is a parent company of LucasFilm and LA made XvT etc so I would hope Disney wont touch them.

I really wish I could've learned about this (time machine?) way before I got my tattoo...cant get it removed as that is way to expensive and hurts like hell.
