So I am going to get some new hardware.. eventually.

Next Generation Nvidia or AMD GFX?

Eventually I think it is about time to get a new system soon through out this year of 2016.

Personally I prefere the X79... X99 standard for motherboards... going all out it seem as well here as it paid off the last time I upgraded my system which sucked me into being addicted to SSD drives as well.

So I guess it is time to wait a bit untill the next generation 2011-v3 CPU's come out of the closet as well as next gen GFX cards.

Anyhow any thoughts to it or ideas and suggestions for sure is welcome.

I'm waiting for the Broadwell chips myself. If they aren't skipped completely they should be out in June.

Think I want to try and go all out for once since I have skipped 3 GFX card generations with the NVIDIA 690GTX.... then maybe the Nvidia Pascal Titan card and ya the new broadwell 2011-v3 stuff maybe 8 cores as 10 would probably be to much for too little gain.

crazy thoughts really.

But a configuration of maybe:

GFX: The Pascal Titan - Coming soon? supposed to be 16GB HBM2 Ram
CPU: the 14nm Intel 8 cores 2011-v3 - Coming soon? ( with a waterblock )
Mobo: Asus something awesome X99
Ram: Kingston DDR4 2600~3000MHz 64GB
SSD HD: Samsung 850 500GB and a 1TB
PSU: Corsair something around 1000W
O/S: Windows 10 pro 64Bit

Rest is yadda yadda and to remember a pretty good Tower as well.

Or all in all I could just update my current system with only a new Pascal titan and 16GB more ram DDR3.

Seem to be a jungle out there with which GFX card is going to be the best.... Nvidia Pascal or AMD Polaris.....

Nvidia has not produced a good card since the GeForce 690 GTX (my current card).... and AMD used to run way hot or power hungry.

Right now what are we going to face... and when will developers decide to develop on a platform that the cards are forced to follow instead of inventing their own crappy little technologies that make absolute no sense at all.

AMD seem to have better hardware that runs well up around the API's and Nvidia seem to make great software to make up for their own cards lack of doing such.

Any opinions?.... waiting on Broadwell CPU 2011-v3 8 cores and the next topend GFX card to be thrown out into the public.. and yes I want HBM ram or GDDR5/X or better... cost none of matter.

I don't think the GTX 1000 series are going to use HBM ram, at least initially. We will see.

That is probably why AMD is going to win my heart for this round with the new upcoming supercard from them... steep price yes.... but it will be useable for the next 2-3 years and working perfectly as well and then we will see if Nvidia Volta will be worth anything.
