I'm beta testing LOTR, its a good game, well thought out but over all lacks depth for me. Only 4 races, although you can play Monsters in the Ettenmoors, for Monster playervsplayer. The classes are limited, only 6 of them. Loremaster, Minstrel, Captain, Champion, Guardian, and Burgler. No real caster classes, in order to keep with Canon.
Crafting system is kinda fun, only game i've played that has a farming profession which was quite cool. The instanced dungeons are well done too for the most part, the Retaking Weathertop was hella cool. Old Forest was far too small for my liking, and over all the world feels quite small, although its seamless other than dungeons and instanced quests. One thing have done quite well is the working in of your character to the over arching story line.
The graphics too are quite pretty although Bree lags like an SOB. However that was on my old system, i've not tried it on my new system. Over all it's a good game, but I can't see it holding my attention for too long, as it's a bit easy, and lacks depth like housing and player cities. Definitely give it a try if your interested though, it's what DDO should have been like, and I can see that they really pulled funding from DDO to switch focus to LOTR.
