A TOR beta has gone live

And aren't a bunch of these the same devs that were around in the SWG beta?

frankly all my beta experience has left me with one opinion of them, beta tests are for stress testing servers and trying to weed out game breaking bugs, like clicking on a NPC gives you blue screen of death. Video game developers have a very high opinion on their ability to create games, and they really aren't interested in being told their ideas are rubish. Saddly, 90% of videogame gameplay ideas are rubbish. Only a few shops have shown a consistant ability to deliever something that doesn't suck. Blizzard, Valve, and to date Bioware. It will be interesting to see if the EA interference has poisoned bioware as well. It certainly sunk Mythic.

It's part of corporate culture. The game devs are being paid to do game design. If they suck at it or need some pimple faced kid on some forum to tell them how to do their job, they are done. They need to give the impression of competence even in the face of total failure. If they can convince enough people they are competent and know how to do what it is they are doing then everyone else will follow suit, because they don't want to be the outsider that eventually gets the oust.

This is why they have no interest in your ideas or opinions. It's all about their ideas and their opinions. The more corporate a business is, the more this group mentality sets in. Why small start ups innovate and just make better things than big ugly nasty assed corporate suits only looking for people to kiss their nasty asses.

So yes, EA poisoned bioware as soon as they walked in swinging those asses around expecting them to get kissed.

I think this post is in the wrong thread. Ass-kissing is in the 'Should we...' thread. =P
