Not really..... Under Commonwealth rule, you can go to any country also under the Commonwealth without the need for a passport, in Canada you still need said passport to go anywhere, so we're not really part of the Commonwealth anymore, we were essentially let go and we are (more or less) our own country

Also, I myself I don't blame France as much as I do blame Quebec, damn frenchy-wanna-be-posers..... I hope they do separate from Canada, that way we can build a huge wall around the province and keep them outta the rest of Canada.....

Granted nominal independence (Dominion status) on 1 July 1867. Canada was the first among the several original Dominions at the time of the Statute of Westminster 1931. Incorporated another original Dominion, Newfoundland, on 31 March 1949.

So yes we are still apart of the commonwealth, but we still have our independence too as a nation

"umm Canada was given their independence from England"

You missed what I said.... In Commonwealth countries, you can travel to other Commonwealth countries without the need for a passport, IE England to Australia, or vise versa, but because Canada is more independent, we can't do that, we still need a passport to go anywhere
