Still think it suck I have to use cartel coins for looks and such... being fully subbed and all.. what do you guys think about that?

I think only those cheap bastards that stay on F2P need to pay for stuff with real money unless they want to sub for real.

Don't you get so many cartel coins per month with the sub to spend on looking pretty Q?

Yeah, TOR is fine for this quarter, but WOW just got lost a lot of subs. MMOs in general never panned out the way the industry wanted after seeing WOW's numbers and wanting to duplicate them. Most MMOs fail horribly so I am not sure we will see too many more made. Those cheesy facebook games have fallen through the floor as well and the Wii U (sorry Kirbs) is looking like a flop. Well the next gen game consoles really do as well as they once did?

The only way these companies make money now is with in game currencies, and having a few people send stupid amounts of money on those currencies while everyone else just free loads for the most part. Even Amazon just got into the virtual currency business. I don't like it, as it becomes too easy to spend a lot of money really fast if you aren't careful. However, that is what they are hoping for, a few people to way over spend. Like some dumbass spending full price for something at the mall instead of waiting for the 50% off sale. It's how they make their money cause nothing else is working right now.

The Wii U will pick up when the 1st party games come out. A New Mario, Super Smash Brothers 4, and Mario Kart U are confirmed to be announced at e3. Those will move systems. That said, I do agree that the golden days of gaming are behind it.

Depends on what games you like. Mobile and basic online games are doing really well. The F2P model is also working for some games (like League of Legends).

But certainly the monthly subscription MMO is on its way out.

Also, this:

I like that they're putting a several-month tentative schedule out there; even if they can't make all of the dates exactly, it's nice to have some sense of what the medium-term timeframe is.
